I’ve updated my website. The previous design was about 5 years old and the landing page was even older. You know, the one with colorful balls and hardcoded links to pages that are no longer relevant and haven’t been for decades? That page was literally old enough to consume alcohol.
So why now?
I’ve been relatively quiet on social media recently although I have been working on some interesting endeavors, some of which I’m hoping to gain some engagement with. One of these is a new webcomic/graphic novel that I’ve been working on for a few years now. I’ve gotten to the point that I can start releasing the pages at a regular rate.
I’ve also created a large backlog of games and other tinker projects that exist only in the vault of github in source-code form and I needed a better showcase for them for normal people. I mean this and link to this unironically. While “downloading a windows .exe file” is not necessarily the specific answer to this problem, we as developers do need to be conscious of this. Creating something of value and then just posting a link to a GitHub repo is a form of psychological abuse to most humans. Sadly many of my non-developer-facing game projects are just github repos, scattered about, or require other weird dependencies (and yes, opening a terminal and running a command IS a weird dependency to normal consumers). I’ll be slowly porting my previous games to the new games page here for easy playability.
Another thing I’ll be doing is consolidating a few of my other past projects that have resided on separate websites onto this site. I’ve posted the full archive of Linked List and will start porting some of the still-useful content from Nerd Paradise over here as well over time.
If you’d like to monitor my progress, feel free to use my new RSS feeds or follow me on social media. I sort of rushed this re-design out over the weekend so please pardon the numerous bugs and let me know if you find any.
